SCOTLAND AND INDEPENDANCE

The big question is not the independence of the nation that is up to the people of Scotland that at least has all ready been decided .  I have concerns about what the Scottish diaspora will think about it as they not to be given a vote neither are they to know what the status of their British passports will be if the vote is yes!.  As Scots across the world wont get a vote and those of us who have part Scottish ancestor wont get a vot either.

So now we move on to the position with regards to Europe we joined as the united Kingdom. If Scotland becomes independent we are no longer the United Kingdom so the body that the European treaty`s  where signed by now no longer exists . There for it is possible that the union may decide that we need to renegotiate the terms of our membership. If that's the case we may have to accept the euro as our currency if we decide to stay in regardless of if you are in Scotland or in England.

The situation in regards to membership of NATO, the make up of our Army`s, Navy`s or our Air force`s is called into Question. Will Scottish members of the armed forces be asked to chose which country they serve?

The royal household if the Monarch remains the ruler of the two kingdoms how will the royal household be funded and what will change. Will Charles when he ascends the throne have top have two coronations one London one in Scone palace. Wales will not come into it he was crowned prince of wales ruler of the principality  by his mother.

The money question  pound, euro,or a return to the bawbee`s  that was the name of the last independent currency the was minted in Scotland in the 1500`. Either way it seems all of the main party's south of the border have agreed that if the vote is yes then the bank of England will not be underwriting the Scottish economy any more ,so if they are using the pound it will be the Scottish pound, not the English pound. That means that  the value may not be the same ! So how many Scottish pounds to the English pound may become a vexing question for people crossing the boarder.

The question of passports starts to raise its head  and how we will get to change who is entitled to hold which passport. Will Scottish people working in the rest of the United Kingdom after a yes vote become migrant workers ? The currently debate about European workers taking jobs may well focus on  jobs held by Scottish workers  as much as on other Europeans.

To be honest if the people of Scotland vote yes to independence it will be a big change for any one who holds a British passport. Be they of what ever nationality they claim as their birthright. A huge number of things we currently take as read and normal will have to be renegotiated and decided all over again so many things will change as people may no longer feel the same way as they did 500 years ago !

The link above is top a guardian article on the reasons for the flooding and I could not have put it better my self its part of the reason I have all ways been a supporter of the practice of perma culture you only have to see the difference between my garden with trees and the garden next door with a lawn to know that it makes a difference when we have rain like we have had in London over this two months.

I also believe that the goverment has a hidden agenda with regards to this flood deference. In that the west of London has been drowned to save the city and the money making heart of the country.
Just as the south west has been left to look after its self though I suspect that it has been done to save Bristol as the major money making city in that part of the country. 
I do not think this will play well for any political party at the next UK elections of course those may not include Scotland if they vote yes to independence

Why Davos is a waste of time

 Thew Economic forum at Davos represents no one but the rich and the industrialists of the world the politicians are their cap in hand at their beckoning to pay lip services to the world business community `s edicts. It has no democratic mandate from any nation let alone any democratic world context. For the last 44 years it has been the unaccountable ruler of the world markets Disguising its operations behind Blink and  luxury of the Swiss Alps. It is no wonder that the bulk of the people of this planet feel disenfranchised and without any voice and resort to terrorism, rioting and civil disobedience! It is time the elected representatives of the people across the world speak for the people and stopped this sort of sucking up to the rich.

It’s January, and for some of the movers and shakers in business and banking, that means it’s time to meet with other members of the global elite at an Alpine ski resort in Switzerland.

But even before it starts, the World Economic Forum — which gets rolling Wednesday, after an opening ceremony on Tuesday, and runs through Jan. 25 in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland — is being scrutinized on social media with an especially sharp eye on one of this year’s themes: economic inequality.

Some of the online discussion focused on how few delegates are women — only 15 percent of the more than 2,500 participants attending — and whether the profile of the attendees adequately represented the world.

 In a series of remarks on Twitter, Kumi Naidoo, the executive director of Greenpeace, suggested the gathering was no more than an exercise in self-preservation, and he linked to a 2011 article by Mr. Sorkin that laid out the costs of attending the forum, which reaches about $70,000 for membership and an attendance ticket.

Lets face facts Davos is just a big jolly for the unelected rich and powerful to have a party at our expense while they decide how they are going to bleed us dry this year. A better Idea  would be if the world economic forum was a meeting of the workers of the world to make suggestion to the politicians on how the world should be run. It would at least be more democratic than it currently is.

What the world needs now

The arresting of the Green Peace activists by the Russian goverment is yet another insult to the people of the world. Just as is like united states Drones operating all over the world , Islamic fundamentalism, The President of Sri Lanka refusing to discuss human rights at the heads of Commonwealth conference.
It is time for the average person in all country's around the planet to stand up to the capitalist global company's, their own governments and and any oppressive religious groups.
Saying we have had  enough of your bigotry, intolerance, abuse and exploitation.

We want to live in an ecologically sound and peaceful way in freedom with equal rights for all citizens regardless of race, culture, ethnicity or sexual persuasion.

We don't need guidance or control.
We elect you our goverment  as our representatives to do our bidding and make a better world for all of us.  We do not elect you to line your own pockets and impose your ideas and will on us.

In the United states, in Britain, in Europe, we are fighting for this still after several hundred years of so called democracy. in the Middle East the nations of the Arab spring  and the Asian sub continent India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Burma. the fight for theses freedoms has only just begun. Initially helped  by the internet and its capacity to reach many people.

The struggle will be long and hard   I will not see the end of it  I am all ready to old it started before I was born in the 1600`s The English levelers, The Jacobite rebellion, The English Civil war all the way down to the Toll Puddle martyrs www.tolpuddlemartyrs.org.uk/‎ and the establishment of  The trade union movement  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trade_union‎ here in the united kingdom. The truth of the arms fare is that it is only the acceptable face of violence and destruction and not actually the worse that is out there. Green and Political

Obama is a Tory its official ? David Cameron is austerity with the population, yet willing to spend a fortune on his long and boring election campaign ? Why is every one surprised or is it just the media ? Labour should not bother to have a campaign manger in my book and just add their support to the green party. Then next election we go with a green labour coalition vote green stop fracking about LOL

The problem with politics is that most of the time it is not representative  of the people as a community but it is representative of the collective bullying forces with in that community of people. It there for responds to their particular social and economic agendas.This is expressed specifically in the protests in east Sussex. It can be manifestly seen in  the attitude of the police and goverment towards the protestors. This phenomena can be seen scaled up in the Arab spring  and in the Syria situation and the coming war between the Shia  and the Sunni Muslims in which we will all be caught up even though most of us do not want it to happen.

Of Course how this will effect the Climate Catastrophe we are facing is any ones Guess. The reality of the situation is that all governments need to stop all the fighting and get on with the job of going green and saving the planet as well preparing the escape pods should we not succeed.
