The Green Dragon

This my picture of the green dragon who discovers that people think he is a myth and sinks into a state of depression and loses his fire so he hides in the cave only to find that a neolithic human group has taken it over while he has been away greening the earth.

He was drawn in 1979 when I was there working for Australian  Dr.Bernardo in the children services,  getting involved with green issues and aboriginal land rights. 

I always felt that Australia was a land of dragons  as one chased of the iguanas of the lawn and out of the swimming pool at the children's home before the kids had finished breakfast we had a couple of fractured arms with the kids fighting with them ! So staff had to get them out before they came out to play though. 

On school days they got to have the place to them selves for the early part of the day  as most of the time it was a rush to get trhe kids up dressed breakfast and on the bus to be driven to their dispersed suburban schools around Sydney.

My true green awakening was born in Australia the difference between the natural out back and the industrialized abused and desolated landscapes was so apparent that you could not but realize that we had to get some sort of handle on the destruction of our environment I would say that for me Australia is  

The green credentials for the 2012 Olympics started out high with a great deal of promises. The reality has been some what less. That is also true of the promises made at the public meetings free tickets where to be made available to the council tax payers of the Olympic boroughs ! Became  local hero's being nominated for tickets.
All the heavy stuff a aggregates for the building work to be brought in by water through the canal system new tidal locks at Bow. More work for local people? most of the promises where not to be! Much of the work on the site was done by migrant workers from the European union. most of the sponsoring company's are not British and the profits made will not be benifiting people here. The Bulk of the profit will be leaving the country.
The  bulk of the British workers on the Olympics have been people employed at the basic living wage or as volunteers The biggest percentage of the population around the Olympic park do not have the expendable capital to afford an Olympic ticket as the percentage of unemployed people in the surrounding boroughs is the highest in London and possible among the highest in the whole of the UK.
The wind turbines to provide all the electricity for thew park where dropped. It is true to say that the project has cleaned up and cleared a large area of polluted land it has also taken a lot of facilities away from local people and we have yet to see if those facilities are returned or replaced for the local people. 

The Olympics are a pagan ceremony to worship the ancient Gods of Mount Olympus  during the original games lives would be lost as the games progressed these where seen as sacrifices to the gods. Interestingly enough among my group of friends and acquaintances these games have so far cost two lives one young lad stabbed in a case of mistaken identity  in the week before in the security step up around the park . The other knocked off his bike by an Olympic Bus.

From my own personal point of view I actually enjoy the Olympics and the sport the opening ceremony was a real good message to the world to reminding  them what we the long suffering British people have given to the rest of the world we restarted the Olympics for better or worse from what can only be described as our village sports days and games. We also gave the world wide web responsible for the current Arabic spring and to some extent the bringing down of many tyrannical governments over the last half century around the globe and the birth of many fledgling democracy's.

In many ways for me this I feel will be the swan song of Britain as we move further into the Millennium I hope at the end of this games we are going out on a high.

The true Lord of Oppression comes to London to see the heroes perform before him and receive their Laurels for their art and culture as well as their stamina and skills.

Yet all the week the alternative news is of Sudanese  Muslim female mutilation in the United Kingdom and The British lack of prosecutions against the practitioners.

Generally it is our inability to deal with the politically correct culture in an adult way rather than being childish about it which is definitely the way most British people deal with it.

Meanwhile the people of the Yemen starve as they cant afford to buy food while the government gets financial help from the USA to provide arms for the fight against Al-Qa’ida.

In Israel the population is now revolt against the government for starving the poor and giving to the rich.

While the Joker fights his arch enemy Batman by indiscriminately killing people in a Cinerama complex. An the president Mr. Obama becomes the Sympathetic man next-door for many in the USA. Sharing in their pain?

So how dose this play with the same guy who gave the order to kill Osama Bin Ladin watched on TV by the whole nation nay the whole World .

Here in the city of London the capital of the world just now as the Olympics begins on Friday all the eyes of the world that have any interest in sport are focused on my neighborhood.

Yet I have no voice and feel totally disenfranchised from what is going on here my interest roams across the world and nits aches and pains and for rest and relaxation I garden where ever and when ever I can to repair the on going damage we are causing to the planet.

So for that I am glade that the Olympic park has been created and I hope the lame god the great father Jupiter enjoys his visit to the park we have created for him and that some where in the Bow back river system the water spirits can give voice to a prophecy for a brighter future.

The Lord of oppression knows we need some thing what is happening in Europe Spain now needs bailing out Greece has fallen through the gaps and Italy is on the brink Erie is falling apart. I just wonder why they do not just devalue the Euro now there is an interesting thought.

The giant bee at Eden in Cornwall. Just to remind us the bees are in crisis as well as the world being in economic crisis.
Eden is the most successful of the millennium projects built in the United Kingdom. It is a beacon of sense in a time of financial constraints and austerity. This is the sort of project and growth projects we need to help re float our economy.

The developed world need to understand that the idea of continuous financial  growth is a fantasy that the monied classes wish to foster and encourage in order to maintain the financial and statues differential between the rich and the poor.
The rich in the world  have no interest in leveling the playing field and making the difference between being rich and being poor minimal.
That philosophy is the province of the socialist, anarchistic, communistic, left thinking egalitarians of the world.

It really is not difficult to see that the housing problem in the United kingdom is caused by at least in some part the fact that well off people own holiday homes some times more than one  and have often a house in the country and a flat in the city. This action by its nature is excluding some people from having a roof over their head and forcing up the cost of property it is also not ecologically sound and is not on an environmental level sustainable.
Though for those in the position of owning such an amount of property it is possible to make the case from a personal point of view that the situation is sustainable. in that when you are not resident in the property personally it can provide holiday accommodation for other members of your family and be rented out as holiday accommodation an so earn you further income. If there is land around your property you can grow your own food and  make the place self sufficient. all of which helps to make the rich richer and make thew local jobless less able to afford a roof over their head and as land prices rise as holiday areas become popular there is less land available cheap for the poor to grow their own food on.
Land need`s in most cases  to be owned collectively or to be in national common ownership.If we are really serious about feeding the world and being ecologically sustainable. It is imperative That the people of this world start to think as a collective whole, functioning as members of the same family looking out for the good of our neighbors regardless of race color creed , sexual persuasion and nationality. We cannot countenance differences in levels of wealth or make differences in culture and behavior a reason for dislike and prejudices. Its time for a change if we do not make those changes to the way we live in the world and on the planet we will not survive the coming difficulties. The planet will and life will its just that human beings may not be part of it unless we change the rich of course think that their wealth and position will insulate them against the coming changes for this reference the Georgia guide stones in the USA. The choices is ours are we bread and lead or are we a collective responsible family of human animals able to live peacefully together on a blue green planet that is a garden paradise of wonders in a universe and cosmos of wonders.

Sustainability is about survival of the ecology and the food chain in every sense of that idea. 

The poor and how they survive and prosper is a very good measure of true sustainability of any project, society, state, city or nation.

In times of austerity if support to the poor is withdrawn by government then infer structure projects are the best alternatives.

Thoughts about The steps of Saint Paul's and the occupy movement

The truth to tell that in my own experience most organised religious groups are not concerned with green and ecological issues nor are they interested in democracy or freedom . they are for the most part concerned with the continuation of their own form of doctrine and the oppression of all other ideas and philosophy. even to the extent of the genocide of other groups who they see as being wrong according to their doctrinal rules and indicts.

It is for this reason that I see all organised religious practices and groups as fundamental opposed to freedom and democracy or indeed the continuation of life on this planet.

Under these circumstances the current move away from the idea of the secular none religious state and government that protects the rights of the individual and that insures the freedom of all others to practice their beliefs and activities freely is not a good move for the human race. fundamental Christians, fundamental Islamic s , fundamental Buddhists , Are all a danger to the health of the planet and its population.

All governments of the world need to be none religious and have a moral code that is in place to support all the peoples of their nations what ever their ethnicity or their creed or their sexual

persuasion.

The current occupy group protests going on around the world are being accused in the media of not offering alternatives to the capitalist system. while protesting against it the fact of the matter is that the media and most of the capitalist institutions are missing the point its not capitalism per say that needs to be replaced.

Its that it needs for the basis of the system needs to be run with a philosophy that the market is there for the benefit of the people of the nation.

All stock exchangers need to be nations key fund raising system for running the government and the state infrastructure. To support the national health services, the education system, To invest in new business, to support the nation in what ever way is needed. There should be a 75 : 25 division of the profit with the larger share at the disposal of the elected government.

The problem is not capitalism per sec but the private and international global nature of it that causes so much of the problems and disparity of wealth in the world.

If company's in worlds country's where in the situation of having to give 75% of the profit from the action of company's operating in the country rather than the profits going to the country's of their head office registration then the financial situations of the nations of the world would eventually reach a state of balance equilibrium and a world currency and economy would soon be a reality in the world. it would bring alleviation to the situation of the euro at the moment as well.
